Randonnée du Harfang 2026: Over $17,000 Raised for Cancer Research

Randonnée du Harfang 2026: Over $17,000 Raised for Cancer Research

On Saturday, September 19, Centre du Camion Gamache hosted the start of the 2026 Randonnée du Harfang. More than 50 motorcycles and Spyders, along with a few convertibles, hit the road to support the Guy Lafleur Fund of the Fondation du CHUM.

Behind this special day is a committee of passionate retired Sûreté volunteers who, since the Randonnée began in 2003, have dedicated their time and energy to making the event a success and raising funds for important causes.

This year’s honorary president was Patrice Brisebois, who hit the road behind the wheel of his white Ferrari. Martin Lafleur, Guy Lafleur’s son, was also there to continue his father’s commitment to cancer research.

From Guy to Martin, a Legacy That Continues

Guy Lafleur served as honorary president of the Randonnée du Harfang for 15 years, from 2003 to 2017. Following his passing, the organizers returned to the road in his honour to support the Guy Lafleur Fund.

Martin has since carried the torch forward and continues the mission started by his father. With growing support, the Guy Lafleur Fund’s fundraising goal has now increased from $5 million to $10 million to support cancer research, including personalized medicine in oncology at the CHUM.

Gamache Joins the Ride

Our president, Richard Gamache, along with several Centre du Camion Gamache employees, took part in the Randonnée. For our team, hosting the start and participating in the event is a meaningful way to support a cause that is close to our hearts.

And this year, generosity was once again at the heart of the event: more than $17,000 was donated to the Guy Lafleur Fund of the Fondation du CHUM.

Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, partners and participants who helped make this wonderful day a success.

Guy started the journey. Martin carried the torch forward. And the Randonnée continues.
